Faberware 23pc Cutlery Set with Wood Block

I recently purchased a Faberware knife and block set.

It contained:

  • 13 stainless knives (6 of them steak knives)
  • 8" x 11" plastic cutting board
  • Kitchen Scissors
  • Set of 5 measuring spoons
  • 3 mixing spatulas
  • Wood storage block

All knives and the block are branded with the Faberware label. After the first time washing the equipment the knives all pitted and rusted. After a week the block became discolored. The spatula's are all semi-hard plastic instead of rubber and began to deform and peel. The Scissors were never overly sharp but were and remain good for opening plastic bags etc. The measuring spoons are fine but nothing special. The plastic cutting board is just that; a thin square piece of pebbled plastic but has held up fairly well and been useful.

The set no longer apears to be sold as Faberware but can be found at walmart under their generic Mainstays label.

Overall the set was relatively cheap but so was the quality.
